The multi-prize-winning German violinist receives €15,000
German violinist Stefan Tarara won the Violin section of the George Enescu International Competition in Bucharest, Romania yesterday. The 28-year-old, who performed Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with the George Enescu Philharmonic in the final, receives €15,000.
Second Prize went to 22-year-old Russian Fedor Roudine, who won the Rodolfo Lipizer International Competition in September last year, and Third Prize to 27-year-old Wonhee Bae from South Korea. Winners of the Cello, Piano and Composition categories will be announced in the coming week.
A prize winner at the Valsesia Musica,
Rodolfo Lipizer, Wieniawski and Lipinski, Henri Marteau, and
Salzburg International Summer Academy competitions, Tarara obtained
a master's degree from Zurich University of the Arts in 2012,
studying with Professor Zakhar Bron. He is concertmaster of the
Mannheim Philharmonic Orchestra and Hulencourt Soloist Chamber
Orchestra.
