The five awards of $3,000 will support innovative stringed instrument projects
Online instrument and bow auction house Tarisio has launched the Tarisio Trust Young Artist Grants programme. Designed to support inventive stringed instrument projects, the five $3,000 awards are open to applicants between the ages of 18 and 35.
The grants will support live and digital projects – from recording and videoing to performance cycles and touring – ideally with a strong online component, to take place no later than December 2015.
‘We have kept the brief as open as possible to see what ideas are submitted,’ writes the company. ‘As long as the project is focused on string instruments in some way, the rest we leave up to the artists. We ask for people to be creative, realistic and strategic.’
Applications open on 2 February 2015 and close on 10 April 2015. Award winners will be announced by 27 April 2015.
