Nicola Benedetti has signed to Askonas Holt's artist register for general management. The Scottish violinist, who was named BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2004 at the age of 16, will continue to be represented locally by Emblem Artists in Australia and New Zealand, and by Primo Artists in North and South America.
'We are thrilled to welcome the amazing Nicky to our family and I'm sure this will be a wonderful partnership,' said Askonas Holt chief executive Donagh Collins. 'I'm looking forward to playing my part in the next phase of her career.'
A strong advocate for musical education, Benedetti works closely with Sistema Scotland, is vice president of the National Children’s Orchestra and was recently announced as patron of the Music in Secondary Schools Trust. The Decca recording artist has also developed her own outreach and education initiative, The Benedetti Sessions. Highlights of her forthcoming season include debuts with Gustavo Dudamel in Venezuela and Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony, Gothenburg Symphony and the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester.
