The first prize at the Joseph Szigeti International Violin and
Viola Competition in Budapest was shared by violinists Wang Xiao
and Aleksandra Kuls.
Wang, 25, from China, studies at the Manhattan School of Music with
Lucie Robert. Kuls, 21, from Poland, is a student of Kaja
Danczowska at the Krakow Academy of Music.
The second prize went to 26-year-old Hungarian violinist Ern?
Kállai, who also won the audience prize. There was no third prize
awarded.
