Florian Leonhard will visit the UK music school regularly to work with students and staff
Florian Leonhard of Florian Leonhard Fine Violins (London and New York) has been announced as Birmingham Conservatoire’s International String Instrument Expert - an appointment that will see him visit the UK music school regularly to work with students and staff, deliver talks and be involved with string events.
'I am absolutely delighted to be involved with Birmingham Conservatoire as their International String Instrument Expert,' said Leonhard. 'It is always inspiring to witness the passion of talented musicians; they, along with their instruments, are the reason my profession exists!'
'Florian has established himself as the expert everyone goes to when it concerns a fine string instrument,' said Conservatoire principal Julian Lloyd Webber. 'This is another feather in our 'international cap' as we move towards the new Conservatoire [in a new state-of-the-art facility] in less than a year’s time.'
Having trained in Mittenwald, Leonhard worked for W.E. Hill and Sons, becoming head restorer, before founding his own company, now a leading dealership and restoration workshop.
