Violinist Angelo Xiang Yu is the recipient the 2019 Avery Fisher Career Grant, 2019 Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award, and First Prize winner in the 2010 Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition. Yu joined the Shanghai Quartet as their newest member in 2020. He toured the world as a soloist and chamber musician and appeared as a soloist with numerous major orchestras.
Yu received his BM, MM and Artist Diploma from New England Conservatory studying with Donald Weilerstein and Miriam Fried. Yu previously served as faculty at Montclair State University and New England Conservatory.
