The internationally acclaimed cellist has withdrawn from her concert with the LA Phil and Gustavo Dudamel
Cellist Alisa Weilerstein has tested positive for Covid-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms. As a result, she has had to withdraw from her performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto on 19 August with the LA Phil and Gustavo Dudamel. She will be replaced by the LA Phil principal cellist Robert deMaine.
The LA Phil stated via social media, ’LA Phil Principal Cello Robert deMaine will replace Alisa Weilerstein in this Thursday’s performance of “Dudamel Conducts Beethoven & Falla.” We are saddened to learn that cellist Alisa Weilerstein has tested positive for Covid-19 prior to her scheduled trip to Los Angeles. We are grateful that Alisa has mild symptoms. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to her next performance with us.’
