Dr Daniel Andai has been appointed dean of music at the New World School of the Arts. The violinist will serve as chief academic and artistic officer for the institution's Music Division in Miami, Florida, overseeing administration of the high school and college music programmes.
‘As an alumnus and former violin professor at the New World School of the Arts, I am honored to have the opportunity to once again work with my wonderful colleagues and the talented high school and college students as dean of music,’ said Andai. ‘Being a native of the great City of Miami, I am proud of the values NWSA has shared with the community for over a quarter century, and I am committed to inspiring our future graduates to embrace those values and share them with the community for years to come!’
Concertmaster and guest conductor of the Miami Symphony Orchestra, Andai is artistic director of the Killington Music Festival in Vermont and a former violin professor at the University of Texas Pan American.
