The star performer is suffering from an inflamed muscle
Hilary Hahn has been forced to withdraw from all of her appearances over the next six weeks due to an inflamed muscle. The violinist was due to perform with pianist Jan Lisiecki and the Annex String Quartet at the Stratford Summer Music Festival in Ontario, Canada on 1 August, and at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and cellist Robert deMaine in Brahms’s Double Concerto on 7 August. She was also set to give three concerts at the Kingston Chamber Music Festival in Rhode Island this week.
‘Following medical advice, Hilary Hahn very much regrets that she must withdraw from her professional engagements for the next six weeks due to an inflamed muscle,’ wrote Hahn’s agency. ‘Hilary is looking forward to resuming her concert schedule in September.’
‘We are naturally disappointed with this news and we send our fullest best wishes to Hilary for a speedy recovery,’ said John A. Miller, artistic producer of Stratford Summer Music.
