Louise Lansdown has joined Birmingham Conservatoire as its new
head of strings. She has been a full-time viola and chamber music
tutor at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester since
2001. She is also director of chamber music at Pro Corda, the
international chamber music academy at Leiston Abbey in
Suffolk.
Lansdown is the founder and president of the English Viola Society,
which was established in 2007. She is also secretary of the
International Viola Society. She performs with the Pleyel Ensemble,
based in Manchester.
