The Chicago Violin Competition (CVC) has announced the winners for its 2024 edition. The competition is held every two years online and comprises a Senior Artists Division and a Young Artists Division.

In the Senior Artists Division, first prize was awarded to Audrey Park (22, US), who received $3,000. Second prize went to Haerim Oh (24, South Korea), who received $2,000, while Inga Rodina (24, Russia) took third prize of $1,000. The winners also receive additional performance and masterclass opportunities.

The laureates of the Senior Artists Division were Karisa Chiu (25, US), Ching-Liang Chiang (20, Taiwan), and Kristine Galano (22, Philippines).

In the Young Artists Division, Stephan Zhang (17, US) won first prize of $1,500. Second and thrid prize went to two siblings from San Francisco, CA - Dustin Breshears (17) and Valery Breshears (14) received $1,000 and $500 respectively. The winners also receive additional performance and masterclass opportunities.

The laureates of the Young Artists Division were Lynn Sung (16, US), Natalie Oh (16, US) and Jasmine Li (16, US).

CVC jury chair, Robert Simonds said on conclusion of the competition: ’This year’s CVC judges heard tremendous talent from all over the world and it was an absolute joy to listen to these promising artists. Congratulations to all the performers who competed and played so beautifully. We look forward to hearing your future performances.’

Over 100 contestants from 34 countries submitted videos to be judged by the competition’s international jury. Hosted by the American Music Institute in Chicago, the next competition will occur in November 2026.
