Find out what to expect ahead of Sunday’s event at Kings Place, and drop by The Strad at Table 14 to check out what’s in store!
The British Violin Making Association (BVMA) Makers’ Day 2025 is taking place at Kings Place, London, on Sunday 9 February from 10am to 5pm. The event coincides with BVMA’s 30th anniversary, and will be the 28th edition of Makers’ Day.
Team Strad will be there all day at Table 14 on Floor -1. Drop by and say hi to pick up a Strad tote bag and a free copy of our February 2025 magazine. If you like what you see, we’ll also have an exclusive code for a 10 per cent discount off our subscription packages, plus our team is happy to talk to you about how you can get the most out of your Strad subscription.
Additionally, don’t forget to check out our Strad-produced books on making and playing, as well as our exclusive posters - indispensible items for any maker’s workshop.
Over two floors, the atrium of Kings Place will be filled with makers and musicians, playing and talking about all things to do with stringed instruments. It’s a chance for luthiers and players to meet each other, and a great opportunity for players to discuss their instrument needs, ideas and even try out instruments and bows directly from the makers.
From 12:30pm to 1:30pm in Hall One, the Kreutzer Quartet will perform in a concert, during which they will play excerpts on a selection of instruments from different makers. The members will speak about their selected instruments and guide listeners to hear the unique tones and qualities that they have found. This will be followed by a Q&A with the Kreutzer Quartet members from 2:15pm-2:45pm in the Limehouse Room.
A free drinks reception will be held at the bar on Floor -2 from 3:30pm, hosted by Lark Music.
We can’t wait to meet you on Sunday!
