Musicians from orchestras based in Manchester, UK are to come together for a special performance next Thursday 1 June in support of victims of last Monday's bombing at Manchester Arena and their families.

The Hallé (pictured), BBC Philharmonic and Manchester Camerata will perform under conductors Sir Mark Elder and Stephen Bell at the free event at Bridgewater Hall.  The evening of 'inspiring and uplifting classical music' will also feature appearances from mezzo soprano Alice Coote, jazz singer Clare Teal and singer-songwriter Guy Garvey. All artists are forgoing their usual fee and Bridgewater Hall has waived its standard ticket charge.

Although entry to the performance is free, audience members must book tickets to gain entry by visiting halle.co.uk/westandtogether.

The WeStandTogetherManchester Just Giving page has thus far attracted almost £1.7m in donations.
