The conference started with an opening plenary featuring a keynote speech by bassist Joseph Conyers and cellist Yumi Kendall. Several awards were presented to educators, including the Artist Teacher Award, which was given to Midori. Musicians from the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra then played movements from Mozart’s C minor String Quintet and Florence Price’s String Quartet no.2.
Staff writer Rita then attended fascinating talks ranging from Artificial Intelligence in string teaching to positive practice and the biomechanics of string playing.
We can’t wait for the next two days! See you at booth 711!
