Elgar’s Cello Concerto, which was premiered 100 years ago today, is the subject of a two-hour programme on Classic FM
Elgar’s Cello Concerto premiered at the Queen’s Hall, London exactly one hundred years ago. To commemorate the centenary RBC Principal, Julian Lloyd Webber, will present a special two hour programme Music in the Air today at 5.00pm on Classic FM. The documentary traces the origins of the concerto from its beginnings to its present-day status as one of the world’s most loved pieces of classical music. It ends with Julian’s recording of the concerto conducted by Sir Yehudi Menuhin.
