Marta Danilkovich replaces Christoph Dingler and joins his sister Marie-Luise in the established violin duo
The German violin duo The Twiolins has announced the appointment of Belarusian violinist Marta Danilkovich. Formerly comprised of siblings Marie-Luise and Christoph Dingler, Danilkovich replaces Christoph, who departs to spend more time with his family and reduce his travel commitments.
’Of course, it was a huge shock for me when my brother shared his decision,’ says Marie-Luise Dingler. ’But I am incredibly fortunate to have found a new partner in Marta. She is the only violinist in Germany with comparable violin duo experience and shares my enthusiasm for this unique format. I am excited to continue this artistic journey with her.’
Marta Danilkovich, born in Minsk, Belarus, achieved international success over a decade with her own violin duo, Divites. The duo won first place at the ’Grand Prize Virtuoso’ of the Salzburg International Music Competition, the ’Grand Prize Virtuoso’ in Amsterdam, and the 10th International Music Competition in Belgrade.
Her performances have taken her to prestigious concert halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York and the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Today, she lives and works in Frankfurt.
’I am deeply honoured that Marie has chosen me as her new partner,’ says Danilkovich.
For 15 years, Marie-Luise and Christoph Dingler established themselves as The Twiolins, performing on international stages. In 2009, the siblings founded the Progressive Classical Music Awards, creating a platform to expand the repertoire for two violins.
Their albums, such as Eight Seasons and Secret Places, have received multiple international accolades, and their tours included appearances at prestigious concert series and festivals, such as the Mozartfest Würzburg and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
With Danilkovich by her side, Marie-Luise Dingler aims to continue the work of The Twiolins. The new duo aims to merge tradition and innovation to further develop the repertoire for two violins and bring the unique sound of the ensemble to the stage.
