The London-based violinist joins the roster for general management, ahead of a season comprising multiple solo engagements

Askonas Holt has announced the signing of Hyeyoon Park to its roster for general management.

The upcoming season sees Park debut with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Kristian Sallinen. She also makes her City of Birmingham Symphony debut conducted by Alexander Shelley with Price’s Violin Concerto No. 2, and debuts with Cape Town Philharmonic performing Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No.1.

She returns to the London Philharmonic Orchestra for two performances of Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, a chamber version of which she also play-directs on tour with Sinfonia Cymru. With pianist Juho Pohjonen, she tours China performing a varied programme that includes Debussy’s Violin Sonata.

Park also makes a return to the Multi-Story Orchestra at the Southbank Centre for a performance of Verified, composed by Young Creatives and Kate Whitley.

As a chamber musician, projects for Park this season include a tour of Europe with long-time collaborators cellist Kian Soltani, violist Timothy Ridout and pianist Benjamin Grosvenor, with whom she released a recording of Vaughan Williams’ original scoring for The Lark Ascendingcommemorating the composer’s 150th anniversary in 2022.

Park studied at the junior colleges of the Korean National University of Arts and University of Cincinnati with professor Piotr Milewski. She also studied with professor Antje Weithaas at the University of Music ’Hanns Eisler’ in Berlin and with Christian Tetzlaff as a Young Soloist at the Kronberg Academy.

She became the youngest ever winner of the ARD International Music Competition in Munich in 2009 and a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award holder in 2011. Park received the London Music Masters Award in 2012 and is now a proud Ambassador of the same charity, which gives children from underprivileged areas a much-needed platform to experience classical music education in the UK.
