Nobel Prize Outreach has announced violinist Julia Fischer as the soloist at this year’s Nobel Prize Concert at Konserthuset Stockholm.
The concert, to be held on 8 December in honour of the Nobel Prize laureates, will also mark her debut with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, which will perform under the baton of Esa-Pekka Salonen. The programme includes Brahms Violin Concerto and works by Boccherini and Ravel, among others.
Tickets go on sale on 18 October.
This year’s Nobel Prize announcements will take place from 2 to 9 October. All of the announcements will be streamed live at nobelprize.org
Fischer has kicked off her summer season of performances which includes chamber music, a tour with the European Youth Orchestra and Antonio Pappano, as well as her debut as co-artistic director of the Boswil Summer Festival with cellist Benjamin Nyffenegger.
