Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) has opened applications for its 2025 auditions. The deadline for applications and video submissions is Sunday 2 March 2025 at 11:59pm.
Applications are open to promising young artists with exceptional potential in the fields of Strings, Woodwind, Brass & Percussion, Voice Solo Piano / Keyboard (includes Accordion) and Ensemble (2-6 members). Instrumentalists must be aged 28 and under, while singers must be aged 30 and under and ensembles must have an average age of 30 and under from 22 May 2025.
Selected artists will receive three to five years of developmental and holistic management, a strategic diary of worldwide engagements (with selected joint artists in collaboration with Concert Artists Guild in the US), marketing to promoters and concert halls, publicity materials including professional photo shoots, plus comprehensive social media and website consultation and support and live recordings of recitals at London’s Wigmore Hall.
Live semi-finals will be held at London’s Royal Academy of Music and the Casals Forum, Kronberg, on 3 and 7 April respectively. Selected artists will be invited to perform at the public final auditions at Wigmore Hall, London, on 22 May.
UK-based semi-finalists will also be considered for inclusion in a new directory of UK-based artists, hosted on the YCAT website.
YCAT’s 2024 cohort included cellist James Morley and the Fibonacci Quartet, while 2023’s intake comprised the Atenea Quartet, violinist Charlotte Spruit, violinist Hana Chang, pianist Ignas Maknickas, Trio Chagall and double bassist Will Duerden.
