In The Best of Technique you’ll discover the top playing tips of the world’s leading string players and teachers. It’s packed full of exercises for students, plus examples from the standard repertoire to show you how to integrate the technique into your playing.

Four years ago, The Strad launched a new series of articles to tackle technical issues experienced by string teachers and students. The idea was to represent the incredible diversity of approach in global string teaching today. Above all, we wanted to celebrate difference - different methods, suited to different psyches, instruments and physiques - and to demonstrate there is no one, universally applicable technique. The Best of Technique is designed to help you find your own your own way of practising and playing, as befits your mind and body.
