In this music video released by Berlin Classics, the Goldmund Quartet performs a movement from the first single from their new album, Travel Diaries.
Composer Fazil Say’s String Quartet op.29, ‘Divorce’, is one of five contemporary works on the album, all written by composers with whom the group has previously collaborated. The musicians describe the composition as a piece whose ‘psychological essence can be transferred to a certain extent to playing and living together in a string quartet. We wrestle with each other for the expression of deepest emotion, go through highs and lows.’
