In the May 2023 issue, Alina Ibragimova explains how Paganini’s 24 Caprices became her lockdown project at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020: ‘I decided to practise all of them every day,’ she says. ‘I’d always admired people who played them, and wondered if I had the technique and stamina to play them through. It was going quite well, so I called Hyperion and asked if I could record them.’
