We spent a very delightful afternoon recently in company with the subject of the present sketch. He was born at Madrid on Christmas day, 1863. At the age of seven he was presented to the lnfanta Isabella, sister of the late king of Spain, who was so charmed with his playing that she sent him at once to the conservatoire at Brussels and bore the expense of his musical education…
