The French cellist joins the roster for general management
The Vienna-based agency Raab & Böhm Artists has announced the signing of Gautier Capuçon to its roster for general management. Raab & Böhm Artists has represented Capuçon since 2002 and is ’delighted that he has decided to work even more closely with us.’
’I am delighted to join Dr. Raab & Dr. Böhm for general management after so many years of fruitful collaboration,’ said Capuçon. ’This partnership feels like a natural progression, and I look forward to continuing our journey together - reaching new heights.’
The agency will work closely with Capuçon on his myriad projects not only as a performer, but as a cultural ambassador. This includes his musical odyssey Un été en France - an initiative that aims to bring classical music to broader audiences and to showcase the cultural richness of the French countryside.
He is also an ambassador for the Orchestre à l’École association, which brings classical music to more than 42,000 schoolchildren across France.
Capuçon is the founder of Fondation Gautier Capuçon, which supports and nurtures young musicians, providing them with opportunities to develop their talents and careers through scholarships, mentorships, and performance opportunities.
Recording exclusively for Erato (Warner Classics), Capuçon has won multiple awards and holds an extensive discography featuring major concerto and chamber music literature. He has premiered works by contemporary composers such as Thierry Escaich, Lera Auerbach, and Danny Elfman.
Capuçon played a significant part in the recent Paris 2024 Summer Olympics as both a torchbearer and performer. On 14 July at l’Hôtel de Ville in Paris, Capuçon performed in front of the Olympic lantern, playing both ’Bella Ciao’ and ’l’Hymne à l’amour’, the latter made famous by famed French singer Édith Piaf. He ran the ‘Marathon Pour Tous’ (‘Marathon for All’), a mass-participation event that saw more than 20,000 members of the public running the official Olympics marathon route.
Capuçon plays on a Matteo Goffriller cello from 1701.
