The exhibition is targeted towards professional musicians, music students and anyone with an interest in music. It is in its second year and includes around 200 exhibitors, a quarter of which are for stringed instruments. The exhibitors hail from 17 countries and vary from small businesses to larger companies specialising in everything from instruments, accessories and strings to tonewood and lutherie tools. Schools, universities and music associations will also be present, as well as a host of renowned violin makers.
The exhibition will also feature over 80 concerts as well as workshops. It takes places over four levels, with level 1 being mostly dedicated to stringed instruments. The exhibition will be divided into three themed areas: ‘stringed and plucked instruments’, ‘keyboard instruments’, and ‘brass and woodwind instruments’. A range of musical styles will be catered for, from classical and folk music to jazz and pop.
The partners of akustika 2024 include the Federal Association of German Musical Instrument Manufacturers, the North Bavarian Music Association, the Federal Guild Association for the Musical Instrument Trade, the Nuremberg Academy of Music, and the Association of German Violin and Bow Makers. During the fair, there will also be guided tours of instrument makers’ workshops and concerts in the city centre.
We look forward to meeting you at stand F03!

American collector David L. Fulton amassed one of the 20th century’s finest collections of stringed instruments. This year’s calendar pays tribute to some of these priceless treasures, including Yehudi Menuhin’s celebrated ‘Lord Wilton’ Guarneri, the Carlo Bergonzi once played by Fritz Kreisler, and four instruments by Antonio Stradivari.
