Additionally, a number of events and live concerts will be held throughout the event at Cremona Fiere, as well as further afield in Cremona itself. There is plenty of live music to pique the interests of string players and enthusiasts throughout the weekend: the Museo del Violino will hold its ’Special Night’ at 9pm on the 27 September, as well as a Gala Evening on the 28 September. Cremona city centre will host ‘Cremona Musica Downtown’ where live music will take over the Federico II Courtyard in front of Piazza Duomo on the Saturday night.

Teatro Monteverdi will host a performance of the 5-string Grand Violin by Mauro Tortorelli and Angela Meluso and Anna Serova’s Viola Quartet on the Friday, while the Roby Lakatos Ensemble will take over the Teatro Ponchielli on the same evening. And perhaps most poignantly, a performance on the Violin of Shoah - an instrument that endured the Holocaust - will be played by violinist Alessandra Sonia Romano on the final afternoon in the events area of Hall 2 at Cremona Fiere.

Check out a list of events here and plan your trip - though be prepared to have to make some tough choices!
