Visconti Arts has announced the addition of the Darshan Trio to its roster. The New York-based agency was launched in 2024 and represents artists recognised for their impact across disciplines, including bassist-composer Kebra-Seyoun Charles, violinist Rachel Lee Priday and Symphony Masala.

The Darshan Trio comprises pianist Dominic Cheli, violinist Vijay Gupta and cellist Yoshika Masuda, and takes its name from the Sanskrit word for ‘seeing beyond.’ The trio was founded in 2021 and its programmes aim to weave together music, storytelling and multimedia, to create a journey of discovery for audience members.

The ensemble has also curated new programmes via its residency at Idyllwild Arts Academy and performances at Yale’s Schwarzman Center and Sierra Madre Playhouse. Darshan Trio is the ensemble in residence at Street Symphony, which presents workshops and performances in Skid Row shelters, clinics and county jails. Its debut album Mosaic was released in autumn 2024.

Dominic Cheli serves on the faculty of the Colburn School, and is the head of piano for the education and media company: tonebase. Vijay Gupta is founder and artistic director of Street Symphony and a 2018 MacArthur Fellow. Yoshika Masuda is currently the assistant professor of cello and director of string Studies at Chapman University.

Also signed alongside the Darshan Trio was Damien Geter, a US composer who infuses classical music with various styles from the Black diaspora to create music that furthers the cause for social justice.

Dan Visconti, principal of Visconti Arts said: ’At Visconti Arts, we believe that the future of the arts lies in elevating bold and fresh perspectives. ’Our new clients are not only terrifically talented but bring narratives that resonate deeply with today’s audiences, and we’re thrilled to support them on their journeys.’
