The 2025 Parkhouse Award competition took place from 8 to 11 April 2025, with the finals occurring at Wigmore Hall on 11 April. Four chamber ensembles performed: Trio E-T-A, Yibai Chen/Boyang Shi duo, Trio Clara and the Davidoff Trio.

The Davidoff Trio won the award which comprises performances at Wigmore Hall and across the UK over the next two years, assistance with publicising concerts, chamber music advice, social media and marketing support, presentation to promoters and continued support for the next two years.

The Davidoff Trio comprises violinist Johannes Wendel, cellist Christoph Lamprecht and pianist Yona Sophia Jutzi. It was founded in Mainz, Germany, in January 2021. It is a laureate of the Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music Competition, International Gianni Bergamo Classic Music Award and International Joseph Joachim Chamber Music Competition Weimar.

The group is currently pursuing a master’s degree in chamber music at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany, studying with Thomas Hoppe. It also receives chamber music lessons from Emanuel Wehse, Andreas Lehmann and Boris Kusnezow, and has undertaken masterclasses with Günter Pichler, Eberhard Feltz, Konstantin Heidrich, and Angelika Merkle.

In 2023, the trio was awarded the annual prize of the Freunde Junger Musiker Kassel and is supported by the Walter Kaminsky foundation and the Akademie der Wissenschaften Mainz. In 2024, the ensemble received a scholarship from the Werner Richard–Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation.

The group has performed across Germany, Switzerland and Italy and at festivals including the Brixen Classics Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Musikdorf Ernen Festival, and Swiss Chamber Music Festival Adelboden.

The Parkhouse Award was founded in 1991, in memory of David Parkhouse, founder–pianist of the Music Group of London. It is held ever two years and aims to promote and support chamber ensembles comprising piano and strings. Recent winners include the Paddington Trio in 2023 and Trio Bohémo in 2021.

The 2025 jury consisted of Robert Cohen, Nicholas Daniel, Priya Mitchell, Martin Outram, Stephen Threlfall, Peter Thresh and chairman Chris de Souza.
