The violinist is the only living classical musician to partner with the independent music publisher
Violinist Itzhak Perlman has partnered with music publisher Primary Wave in a music rights deal. The partnership makes Perlman the only living classical musician to partner with the Hollywood-based independent publisher.
On the partnership, Perlman said: ’I am excited to work with Primary Wave to see what plans they develop to take care of my recordings and to see what new opportunities they bring to the table.’
Lexi Todd, Primary Wave’s vice president of business & legal affairs, said: ’Itzhak Perlman is hands-down the greatest violinist of our time. It is a true honour to have had the pleasure to work with Mr Perlman and his team on this partnership, and we are all looking forward to working together on new opportunities to spread his undeniable musicianship and his incredible story.’
Primary Wave was founded 15 years ago and has since become the publisher of some of the best-know music artists in history, including Prince, Bob Marley, Stevie Nicks, Smokey Robinson, Whitney Houston, Burt Bacharach, Olivia Newton-John, Ray Charles, Aerosmith and Count Basie. The songs represented by Primary Wave include over 1,000 Top 10 singles, and over 400 number 1 hits.
