Pochekin joins the roster for representation in Spain

The Conciertos Augusto agency has announced the signing of violinist Mikhail Pochekin to its roster for Spanish representation.
In recent seasons Pochekin has been invited by the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Basel Symphony, Russian National Orchestra, Mariinsky Theatre Symphony, Slovak Philharmonic, Russian State Symphony ’Evgeny Svetlanov’ and the Lithuanian National Symphony.
He has also been a guest at festivals such as the ’Gasteig’ in Munich, National Music Auditorium in Madrid, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, Schloss Elmau in Bavaria, National Philharmonic of Ukraine, Kronberg Academy Festival, Cologne Philharmonic, Sala Grande of the Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg and the ’Sofia Gubaidulina’ International Festival of Contemporary Music in Concordia.
He is co-founder and artistic director of the Landshut Kammermusikfestival in Bavaria, organised by Freunde der Musik eV Landshut and which was first held in August 2023.
Hailing from a musical family, Pochekin began violin lessons with Galina Turchaninova at the age of five, going on to learn from Viktor Tretiakov, Rainer Schmidt and Ana Chumachenco, as well as receiving lessons and masterclasses from Christian Tetzlaff. He was a prizewinner at the Pablo Sarasate, Rodolfo Lipizer and Jascha Heifetz competitions.
Pochekin has recorded the Bach Solo Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Música, a joint album with his brother Ivan titled The Unity of Opposites for Melodiya, and most recently, has recorded violin concertos for the Hänssler Classic label.
Other string players on the Conciertos Augusto roster include violinists Joshua Bell, Hilary Hahn, Lisa Batiashvili and Julia Fischer, and cellist Gautier Capuçon.
