The violinist takes up her new role at the beginning of the orchestra's 2016-17 season
The Royal Scottish National Orchestra has appointed Lena Zeliszewska as associate principal first violin (no. 4) from the beginning of the orchestra’s 2016-17 season on 6 October.
A former member of the European Union Youth Orchestra and Verbier Festival Orchestra, Polish musician Zeliszewska was appointed sub-principal first violin with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in 2010, and since 2011 has also been a member of Birmingham Contemporary Music Group.
'One of the main factors which drives and inspires me as a musician and a person is a constant search for new challenges and opportunities to learn more about music, performance and life in general,' said Zeliszewska. 'More often than not I learn that from my fellow musicians and so I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the RSNO and to begin this new and exciting musical journey!'
