A new rosin tailored to solo playing

Leatherwood Rosin’s new Concerto rosin is targeted at soloists. It has been developed, in collaboration with violinist Hiroaki Yura, to enable projection in large halls and to degrade less easily on the strings to maintain sound quality. About the rosin’s sound quality, Andrew Baker, Leatherwood Rosin’s director and rosin maker, explains: ‘Because it has a bright and focused sound, it has a smooth and glassy feel on the strings, but still with a firm traction.’…
