Olga Volkova won first prize at the Carl Nielsen International
Violin Competition in Odense, Denmark. The 21-year-old Russian, who
studies with Zakhar Bron in Cologne, received DKK 125,000
(£13,500). The second prize went to Niklas Walentin Jensen, 18,
from Denmark. Eva Thorarinsdottir, a 25-year-old violinist from
Iceland, took third prize.
