The Strad marks its 125th anniversary by partnering with the LSO International Violin Festival
PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION
The Strad celebrates its 125th anniversary this year and to mark this milestone we are partnering with the LSO International Violin Festival to host three FREE Strad Sundays at London’s Barbican Centre.
The third Strad Sunday takes place on 28 June 2015. From 3-5.30pm there will be a photographic exhibition in the Fountain Room, charting the development of the violin through close-up views of instruments by makers such as Stradivarius, Guarneri 'del Gesù' and Andrea Amati.
The exhibition will also showcase striking photos from The Strad’s archive, spanning 125 years of musical history.
PRE-CONCERT TALKS
The Strad Sundays also feature three FREE pre-concert talks on the Barbican Hall stage – on violin sound, orchestral auditioning and instrument teaching – running from 6–6.45pm. The last of these will also take place on 28 June:
