The Menuhin Competition, the two-yearly international contest
for violinists under the age of 22, will be staged in the US for
the first time in 2014. It will be hosted by the Butler School of
Music at the University of Texas at Austin.
The number of American participants at next month's Menuhin
Competition in Beijing is second only to the number of
Chinese: 11 out of the 42 contestants are from the US, compared
with 12 from China.
