Ahead of Tamsin Waley-Cohen’s Two Moors Festival in October, check out this performance from the Albion Quartet playing the Andante from Dvořák’s String Quartet no.13 in G major.
Tickets are now on sale for the festival, which will take place on 5 to 9 October in Dartmoor and 13 to 16 October in Exmoor.
Centred around the theme of ‘Friendship’, the festival will feature the Albion Quartet, Fretwork, Consone Quartet, Orsino Quartet, Benjamin App, I Fagiolini and author Michael Morpurgo celebrating the 40th anniversary of War Horse.
’The extended lockdowns and isolations that we have all experienced over these last two years have highlighted ever more indelibly how vital a lifeline our friendships are to us all,’ commented artistic director Waley-Cohen.
’John Donne said “No man is an island”, and as usual, he knew what he was talking about. We are exploring this theme throughout the festival, visiting the home of the Schumanns’, looking at Beethoven, Mozart, and Schumann, Dvořák, Janacek, and Haas, as well as celebrating anniversaries of Vaughan-Williams and Matthew Locke.’
