These two young musicians perform Prayer from Ernest Bloch’s set of pieces From Jewish Life, acknowledging the universal pain undergone by those suffering through war.

Both siblings were born in La Palma, Canary Islands, to a German-Swiss-Hungarian family. Based in Switzerland, the family travel overseas regularly for concerts and the childrens’ music education.

After initial lessons on the violin, twelve year old cellist Anouk began cello lessons at the age of six with Eros Jaca. She counts Antonio Meneses and Wen Sinn Yang amongst her teachers and will commence studies with Conradin Brodbeck as a junior student at the Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart. She has won numerous prizes and awards and is already an accomplished performer, having performed at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival and as a soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

Currently 15 years old, pianist Manoush began violin lessons at the age of two and has been playing the piano since the age of eight. She has recently been admitted into the class of Claudio Martinez Mehner, piano professor at Hochschule für Musik Basel.

The two sisters often perform with their elder brother Anatol, a violinist who will commence his studies with Miriam Fried at the New England Conservatory in September. As a duo, Anouk and Manoush have enjoyed competition success together, winning a WDR Classic Prize in 2021 for their performance of Beethoven Sonata for Piano and Cello no.1.
