Swedish soloist Ava Bahari will step in to perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra
British violinist Jennifer Pike has sustained ‘a micro-fracture on one of her wrists’ and has been forced to cancel an upcoming concert, according to the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. The star soloist was due to play Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto at Perth Concert Hall on 21 February 2025. The Swedish violinist Ava Bahari, currently artist-in-residence with the Gotheberg Symphony Orchestra, has stepped in to play at short notice.
Earlier this year, Pike was due to play at the 30th anniversary of the English Haydn Festival in June but also had to cancel due to a wrist fracture.
The Strad wishes her a speedy recovery.
