Americans Kenneth Arthur Renshaw and Kevin Zhu won the top
prizes in their respective divisions at the Menuhin Competition in
Beijing for violinists under the age of 22. Renshaw, 18, received
the £6,000 first prize in the senior division. Zhu, 11, won the
£4,000 first prize in the junior division.
Second prize in the senior division went to Ji Eun Anna Lee, 16,
from South Korea. Eighteen-year-old Alexi Kenney from the US took
third prize. In the junior division, Soo-Been Lee, 11, from South
Korea, won second prize. Third prize went to 14-year-old Taiga Tojo
from Japan.
