The entry deadline for the Animato International Violin Competition in Australia has been extended to 31 October.
The contest is open to violinists under the age of 18 (born after 1 January 1995) and will run from 22–24 November at the Old Museum Building in Brisbane.
The first prize winner receives a Guarneri replica violin by maker Konrad Kohlert valued at AU$20,000 and will perform the Mozart Violin Concerto in a public concert on the final day.
