A winner of both the Concours de Genève and the ARD International Music Competition, Japanese violist Nobuko Imai has performed as a soloist with orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw and the London Symphony among others.

Alongside her teaching in Amsterdam and Kronberg, she founded the East West Baroque Academy, an initiative to bring together students from the Netherlands and Japan.
