Austrian violinist Maria Sotriffer, 24, has won first prize in the senior category of the Ysaÿe International Violin Competition, receiving €5,000 and the loan of a 1740s Guadagnini violin. Second prize of €2,000 went to Japanese violinist Yuki Hirano, 20, while the €1,000 third prize was divided between US–Finnish violinist Matthew Hakkarainen, 23, and Russian violinist Mariia Lundina, 23…
