Major works like violin concertos usually proceed from rough idea into recorded actuality with no great speed, but the concerto by British composer Adrian Sutton is different. Completed during 2023, it had its first performance in June of that year at the Southbank Centre, and was in the recording studio by the following January: a timetable driven by unwelcome news that chained Sutton’s life to a ticking clock…
