Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra First concertmaster auditions in Amsterdam on 19, 20 and 21 May 2025.

Skills required:

  • Outstanding instrument proficiency, ability to perform solos at the highest level
  • Profound knowledge of orchestral repertoire
  • Strong (natural) leadership skills
  • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills, with regard to the first violin section, the orchestra and the conductor
  • Providing bowings for the string section
  • Equivalent experience in a professional orchestra.

Repertoire will include:

  • Mozart, KV 216, KV 218 or KV 219, 1st Movement
  • Romantic Concerto of choice: Beethoven, Mendelssohn (E minor), Brahms, Tchaikovsky, or Sibelius.
