Reuning & Son Violins welcomed the Celebrating Women Luthiers - an International Exhibit into their New York City showroom in the month of June. With 50 participants and over 60 instruments and bows available to view, it was an event focused on celebrating the accomplishments of women in the field of lutherie.
The weekend began with a reception for the participating makers to view the exhibit and enjoy the accomplishments of their peers. Saturday included a captivating panel discussion on what it means to be women in the field and how to better create inclusive spaces to promote diversity and equity. The events concluded with a concert featuring women musicians performing music composed by women, played on instruments made by women.
Toward the end of the month, Reuning & Son Violins hosted an open house in their Brookline, MA showroom.
The instruments and bows will be available for viewing and purchase at Sapp Violins in Batavia, Illinois from 13-19 July 2024.
