Tis already the season of the Grammy Awards. Today the Recording Academy of the United States announced its nominations for the 2025 Grammy Awards. The winners will be announced on Sunday, 2 February 2025, during the 67th Grammy Awards ceremony, which will take place live at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

While much of the attention is focused on Beyoncé and her 11 nominations this round (she already boasts 32 wins and now holds the record as the most-nominated artist in Grammy history), 10 of the total of 94 categories shine the light on classical music.

String players have an especially healthy presence this year. Here’s a quick recap of string players or string-related releases up for the coveted award:

Best Classical Instrumental Solo
