The Ilona Fehér International Violin Competition has announced competitors for its 2024 edition, which will be held from 4 to 14 July 2024 in Budapest, Hungary.
The competition is divided into two age groups of violinists under 15 years old and those between the ages of 15 and 22. Following the competition, the contestants will have the opportunity to attend the rehearsals and concerts of the 9th Festival Academy Budapest 2024, the international chamber music festival hosted by Katalin Kokas and Barnabás Kelemen, commencing 14 July.
The contestants will be judged by an international jury comprising violinists and music educators, presided by Shlomo Mintz, who was a former student of the Hungarian-Israeli violin teacher Ilona Fehér. Additionally, masterclasses led by jury members form an integral part of the competition. The jury for this year’s competition comprises Alissa Margulis, Andreas Vierziger, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Dora Schwarzberg, András Keller, Magdalena Ursu György Pauk, Peter Herresthal, Qian Zhou and competition co-founder Barnabás Kelemen.
