Angeloni is a graduate of the International School of Violin Making. Following initial studies, he attended the University of Pavia, Department of Musicology and Cultural Heritage, where he graduated with honours in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage. There, he was the first graduate of the degree dedicated to the restoration and conservation of musical and scientific instruments. He currently works at the University of Pavia as a contract professor.

He has collaborated with the Arvedi Laboratory of Non-Invasive Diagnostics, the Swabian Museum of Trieste, the National Museum of Musical Instruments of Rome and the Civic Museum of Modena. During his training he participated in projects with the University of Edinburgh and the Correr Museum of Venice.

Angeloni was appointed by an examining commission which comprised Chiara Bondioni (director of the culture and tourism sector of the Municipality of Cremona), Fausto Cacciatori (curator of the MdV Foundation), Bruce Carlson (MdV Scientific Committee), Michela Cascasi (official of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism), Gabriele Rossi Rognoni (curator at the Royal College of Music) and Virginia Villa (general director of the MdV).

In a statement, Villa commented on the curator’s fundamental role on the life of the museum, building a complex mandate of historical study as well as supporting development, cultural mediation and ongoing education. She thanked Cacciatori for his service since 2013 and acknowledged Angeloni’s skills, enthusiasm and established relationship with the museum and its community aiding his role going forward.
