A 1754 Giovanni Battista Gabrielli violin belonging to Valerie Leopold has been reported as stolen. The theft occurred on 21 June between 9:00–10:20 AM on the IC 3130 train between Antwerp and Bruxelles Midi, Belgium. The violin was in a black carbon GEWA violin case with stickers on it, with Leopold’s name marked next to the handle.
Also in the case were a violin bow by Claude Thomassin, made between 1910–1920, and a violin bow marked Penzel.
