Competition based in Harbin, China, reaches final stage of its live rounds, with ten musicians from eight countries

The Alice & Eleonore Schoenfeld International String Competition (SISC), taking place from 18 to 30 July in Harbin, China, has announced the finalists in its violin and cello categories.
The violin finalists are:
- Lorenz Chen, Germany
- Felicitas Schiffner, Germany
- Eimi Wakui, Japan
- Wendi Wang, China
- Vasyl Zatsikha, Ukraine
And the cello finalists:
- Zlatomir Fung, US
- Rustem Khamidullin, Russia
- Anastasia Kobekina, Russia
- Dora Kokas, Hungary
- Mon-Puo Lee, Spain
The first prize in the violin and cello divisions is $30,000, with a further $20,000 going to the winners in a chamber group category – open to string quartets, piano trios and piano quartets. The competition admitted 35 violinists, 35 cellists and five chamber groups to its live rounds.
